The Dreamer New Moon in Pisces, 26 degrees March 17, Saturday at 6:11am What is a dream? When we dream, don’t we usually dream of something better, something different than what our current experience is? Why is that? It is because we want to heal or change things that cause us discomfort. Think about your dreams and then ask, ‘what would I have to believe for me to want to dream that?’ Explore deeper and ask that same question again, and again, each time spiraling downward into the seed of the dream. Here is an example:
My dream is to help as many people as possible to live a more embodied, authentic, joyful life --- why? Because all people deserve to feel ‘ok’ in their bodies and to experience peace and contentment ---why? Because if we feel at peace in our bodies and lives, we will be kinder towards others --- why? Being kind to others is important to have a world of peace --- why? Because I want peace --- why? Because I often feel, anxious or depressed, not sure of my own value in this world --- why? Because I was told I was not enough when growing up --- why? Because my parents wanted to have a family that was accepted by their society and culture --- why? Because they both came from very poor immigrant backgrounds and they both wanted ‘a better life’ for their children --- why? Because they struggled, and they didn’t want their own family to struggle --- why? You get the idea, a dream is a dream, inside of a dream inside of another dream. Most often those dreams are rooted in injury, fear, sadness, rejection or shame. They are rooted in our wounds. Rumi says ‘The Wound is the place where the light enters you” This New Moon is inviting us to let go of the old structure of viewing our wounds as a place of darkness. Instead, we can allow our light to shine though our wounds and merge our light self with our dark self because they both are part of who we really are. They make the ‘whole’ of ourselves. And what this world needs right now is whole, bright, embodied beings. This New Moon will be in Pisces. Pisces is about connecting and merging with the unconscious great world beyond – that which cannot be held or contained. Pisces is a water sign ruled by Neptune, ruler of the oceans and water ways. The easiest way to understand Pisces and Neptune is to think of the qualities of water. The surface of an ocean or lake can be smooth, or choppy, yet under the surface it is always calm and there are currents that run, hidden below. Water can be a gentle spring rain or a hurricane. Water can trickle out of a spring or a be roaring river carving out a canyon. Water can be held for a while in many different kinds of containers, but many containers will eventually leak as the water finds its way out through the path of least resistance. When mixed with most other things, water merges and morphs as it does when mixed with earth to become mud, with wind to make mist, with cold to form ice or snow, or fire to create steam. This new moon has 3 sets of conjunctions. Conjunctions are when different planet’s energies merge together. The first and primary conjunction is: Sun, Moon, Chiron. Sun is our fuel, how we get things done, the Moon is our emotions, and Chiron is our wounds – together all in Pisces. So, for this New Moon, our fuel (Sun), emotions (Moon) and wounds (Chiron) are inseparable and merge and work together. This is an opportunity to accept ourselves exactly as we are - as the brilliant gifts we are to the world. Think about all the various circumstances, decisions, choices, actions that played out over the millennia for you to come into existence. As my teacher’s Teacher Douglas Brooks says – ‘You are the point the Universe is making.” The second conjunction is of Venus (the feminine, art/beauty) and Mercury (how you think) in Aires, a fire sign and a warrior of life. This conjunction brings the energies of creativity and beauty to our thought process, which is needed to make that deeper connection with oneself. The 3rd conjunction/merger is between Pluto (death and transformation) and Saturn (structure and form) in Capricorn, an earth sign and ruler of Saturn, so there is extra emphasis on structure and form. This conjunction is probably more about the death (Pluto) of the old form (Saturn) and the extra emphasis on structure and form is probably because it is always so challenging to focus on changing ourselves rather than those around us. In order for our merged self to come forward we need to let go of the previous vison of ourselves. Indeed, in order for our dreams to come to fruition we often need to let go of our old selves. Isn’t that what we aspire to do when we dream? We often dream about changing who we are or our circumstances, which of course ultimately changes who we are. All this effort and merging will be met with resistance. There is always resistance to any change. No matter how bad the current situation may seem to be, maintaining the status quo is just generally easier and requires less effort than initiating change. However, there are several squares between Mars our energy and Pluto (transformation). These squares give us the tension that motivates change. This New Moon will be at 26 degrees Pisces. We have been at 26 degrees for a while now, except for last month’s New Moon which was at 27 degrees. In the Tarot, 26 is the Principle of Balance, realignment, negotiating and truth and 27 is Completion and Introspection and Space. Last month we had a chance for a sense of Completion, and Introspection. Now, we are back to work, balancing and realigning. So, for this New Moon, dream and ask why? Ask why again and again and again. Dig down deep. What are the seeds of your dreams? Reminder....Samsarafest starts this Thursday! It's not too late to get your tickets!!!
