Taurus Full Moon November 3, 2017 at 10:23pm 11 degrees Taurus Today’s Full moon will be in Taurus. Taurus, is about fully experiencing and enjoying our human embodiment. Full Moons represent the culmination of a cycle such as the bearing of fruit in a plant’s life. When the moon is full in Taurus, it is a wonderful time to savor the fruits of our labor.
Interestingly, this Full Moon is also happening around a big holiday time celebrated by many cultures: Samhain, Halloween, All Saints Day and Day of the Dead. One element all these celebrations have in common is the celebration of the dead, specifically our ancestors. This full moon is a wonderful time to celebrate our physical harvest of abundance – apples, pumpkins, nuts and seeds as well as the abundant harvest of the seeds sown by our ancestors. It is our ancestors who have laid the path for us to move forward both individually and collectively. Perhaps it was your grandmother or great-grandmother who immigrated here looking for better opportunity and allowing you the good fortune to be born here in America. Additionally, many amazing people have preceded us and created paths for us to follow, like Madame Curie leading the way for women in science and Mahatma Gandhi, the peaceful warrior. This is a time of year to remember that our fruitfulness is not just our own. We walk the paths begun by many others. However, we also need to remember, that some legacies should not be perpetuated. We all have familial and cultural patterns we may not want to carry forward such as racism, intolerance and bigotry. There may be familial self-defeating beliefs such as “I’m not smart enough, brave enough, kind enough” Or “I don’t deserve to be happy, or loved.” Like our ancestors, we get to choose what stones we set down for ourselves and we should be mindful that we are laying stones for future generations to follow. That grandmother who moved as an immigrant did not let her fear keep her from seeking a better life for herself, her family and her progeny… perhaps you! Mahatma Gandhi was just a simple lawyer yet he inspired millions and liberated a country. How did he pull that off, you ask? He saw injustice, was deeply moved and simply chose a different path that resonated deeply with his values and the needs and values of his countrymen. You too can do the same. We all have that potential. This month’s Full Moon can help. The primary focal point in this Full Moon is Pluto. Pluto is transformation – deep, inner transformation, death and rebirth transformation. Both the Sun in Scorpio (which is ruled by Pluto) and the Moon in Taurus are in a favorable relationship with Pluto, giving us the fuel and passion to transform ourselves. Venus in Libra and Jupiter in Scorpio are also in a lovely embrace giving us a sense of self-love and expansion. Maybe through that lens we can see what needs to be transformed. Also, expansive Jupiter is in a good relationship with Neptune encouraging us to see the big picture of how we are all connected. The changes we make can impact more than ourselves and our own lives. Just like Madame Curie and Gandhi, our decisions can send ripples through time positively impacting many generations to follow. The challenge this Full Moon is that both Mars and Uranus are not getting along well with Pluto. Mars is our energy and Uranus is sudden change, so there is a potential for a sudden accident. Be careful and mindful about your comings and goings this next week. Take time for a little extra rest too. Uranus may be cranky with Pluto, but in a happy relationship with Saturn. Saturn is about structure and foundation. Any transformation that is really going to take hold and make a difference is going to happen with long term discipline (Saturn) and change (Uranus). Amidst all the Halloween hubbub, try to take some time and have gratitude for the shoulders you stand on. Have gratitude and savor the abundance on your kitchen table, no matter how much or how little there is. Take time to bite into something delicious, like a fresh apple and appreciate how amazing it is that such a thing exists!
