Hello Friends, I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I can’t believe how amazing this weather has been! We truly live in paradise. So obviously, the theme for August is Savor. August will be our last true month of summer as September brings us into the activities of fall. Even if you don’t have school age children, years of conditioning make us feel like we are beginning something new. However, September is still a whole month away. Stay here in this month and savor summer. Go for a swim at Deep Lake, the water is warm. Drive up to Mt. Rainier, the view is amazing. BBQ with friends, stay up late, have campfires or drink wine while admiring your garden. Really savor the sunshine, the abundance, and the beauty of summer. Love where you are right now, breathe in sunshine, and listen to the sounds of summer, children laughing and playing in the water, the birds and the leaves brushing up against each other. Even if you don’t feel like you are in a beautiful place mentally, emotionally, or physically, close your eyes, take a deep breath and try to extend past that and savor the warmth of the sun and the bounty of summer. Love where you are because you are beautiful and important. I hope you had time to read my New Moon interpretation that I sent out last week, because we are in a very important initiatory process. In July and August we have the rare opportunity to experience two Leo New Moons, one at the beginning of the sign and one at the end. The second Leo New Moon coming up on August 21st will be a Total Solar Eclipse, which will be visible here in the PNW! Also our Full Moon coming up will be a partial Lunar Eclipse (not visible). Eclipses are powerful change agents. The theme for these eclipses is about loving and understanding ourselves deeply so we can really shine and share our gifts with the world. Ultimately, we can change and improve our world by being more completely ourselves! The study of yoga helps us deepen our relationship with ourselves. Yoga helps us to shine the inner mirror, and heal and incorporate our broken parts so we are more whole and more embodied. Even if you can’t make it to class this month, take some time out to explore the different ways that you love and care for yourself. How do you feel about yourself? What can you do to make that a better relationship? Remember: You are a beautiful and amazing person. Don’t hide yourself away. The world needs you, all of you! I’m excited to share that this month, I’ll be taking some time off from teaching to build my yoga skills. I will be taking a weeklong training program with Robin Rothenburger, ‘Essential Low Back Care.’ Additionally, I’ll be taking some personal time to ‘savor summer’ by spending quality time with family as well as time to see the Total Solar Eclipse in Oregon. Check out the revised yoga class and workshop schedule below. I’d love to see you sometime this month! Dive Deep to Ascend!
