Fall is in the air! Transitions can always be hard, especially if they turn us away from the playful times of summer, back to the work of fall or from warm days to cooler days. In Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga we are moving from the heat and intensity of Pitta to the mobility and coolness of Vata. When unbalanced, Vata energy can make us feel distracted, overwhelmed and generally pulled in too many directions. Here are five ways you can help balance the Vata energy of fall. 1. Make a schedule and follow it. 2. Drink warm water and herbal tea. 3. Practice a yoga practice that is slower and heavier. 4. Clear you calendar of unnecessary activities. Be sure you are spending your time doing what you really want to and need to do. 5. Slow down. Move a little slower through the day, take time to notice your transitions. For example, when you have arrived at your destination, pause, then get out of the car. When leaving for a destination, pause, then start the car. Below is a list of my offerings this month. You will notice, there will be no Mandalas this month. I am so sorry!! My travel, training and work schedules have made it too difficult this month to offer the Mandalas. They will be back in October. I hope to see you soon! Blessings, Andrea WEEKLY PRACTICES: MONDAYS: 50/50 Yoga Tonic, Gentle Yoga & Yoga Nidra The perfect tonic for alleviating stress. It is the season for the leaves to be seen and that is a new season for us as well. We can make a new resolution and be a better person that will make this world a better place. I want to see all the season that America can show and to play with the leaves or snow is a dream of every child. This may look simple, but it is a big thing for all of the children who will see this for the first time. Thank you for sharing this post to the public.
