December's New Moon
Sagittarius 26 degrees
Sunday December 17 at 10:30pm
The December New Moon will be in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the adventurer of the zodiac, the truth seeker, vision quester, philosopher always seeking for truth and meaning.
In this New Moon chart, there is a gathering in Sagittarius. Five planets occupy the portion of the sky named Sagittarius, The Sun (our energy), Moon (our emotions and subconscious), Mercury (the way we think), Venus (love, beauty and the feminine) and Saturn (structure and form). All five planets are in a positive relationship with Uranus, the planet of sudden change and innovation. Uranus is in the fire sign of Aries, a fellow journeyer with Sagittarius, and together with this group of Sagittarius planets we have the opportunity for an epic adventure of change.
Since, Mercury is retrograde for this holiday chart it suggests that the process is a deep internal and private one. Blogger and amazing wild food craft author, Danielle Prohom Olson, recently posted a blog that talks about the history of our ancient holiday imagery. What she shares is a perfect reflection for this New Moon. Instead of me relating her post back to you, I suggest you read it yourself. Click here for the link. Her post is so well written with such beautiful pictures.
On this darkest, longest night, or in the nights to come leading up to the longest night of the year, Dec 21st, I suggest that you make a nest for yourself, close your eyes, and take that epic inner adventure. Imagine yourself one of the female Shaman’s of Siberia, dressed in red and white, taking their ceremonial mushrooms to vision quest. Dive deep into your own inner world, perhaps even traveling on a female reindeer, to see what inner truth for yourself needs to break through, or evolve and change in your life.
Dive Deep to Ascend!
