The New Moon took place Saturday at 3:42am, towards the end of the sign of Scorpio at 26 degrees. New Moons highlight new beginnings, akin to the dark period just before birth or a seed sprouting in soil. However, the later degrees of a sign represent a deeper maturity of that sign. So, this is a New Moon with an old soul.
As always with New Moons, the Sun and Moon are together. So, this means our emotions (the moon) and our lifestyle (the sun) are working together. Since this New Moon is in Scorpio, it’s time dig down deep, Scorpio style. An important skill we learn with a regular yoga practice is that we are not just our thoughts, emotions or bodies. We are so much more. Our thoughts, emotions and bodies are the lenses with which we interact with the world, and we have the power to change this lens. Scorpio’s super power is their intense ability of focus in order to manifest their desires. There is a growing body of neuro science out there that is exploring how something is more likely to manifest in our lives when we intensely focus on that something, whether it is positive or negative. Literally, we can create our own reality! If you are interested to learn more, check out this article. There are two really important conversations happening with this New Moon. First, we have a T-Square between Uranus (sudden change and innovation), Pluto (death, rebirth, transformation) and Mars (energy, masculinity, aggression). T-squares are like a table missing a leg, so they are unstable and unpredictable. There is a lot of intensity in this conversation and a fair amount of misunderstanding. Something has been brewing since the Full Moon, and it is ready to pop like a nasty zit. Be careful! Physically, this aspect can cause accidents. Also, please, please, please think before you speak. What you say has potential to cause irreparable harm. Concerning speaking, the other major conversations in this New Moon are the ones happening with Mercury. Mercury is about communication and how we think. Mercury is in good relationship with Saturn and the North Node, giving stability and knowledge (Saturn) to move towards our life’s purpose (North Node). However, Mercury is not getting along well with Chiron (the wounded healer). This suggests that there could be a tendency for one to carry around an old wound in order to use it as an excuse. Also, beware that Mercury and Saturn are in the sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the sign of truth and adventure, which is usually good for Mercury. HOWEVER, one of the faults of Sagittarius is speaking without thinking – think of putting your foot in your mouth disease. With the ugly T-square mentioned above, we may need to be extra cautious with our tongue. We also may feel aggression towards others or it may be directed towards us. This New Moon, is asking us to look deeper at our motives. Usually I talk about planting new seeds during New Moons. Instead, this time I’d like to suggest that you look at the quality of the soil. What excuses do we use and how do we hold ourselves back? What do you think about? What is your inner dialogue? Does it move you closer to your goals? What feelings do you cultivate? Do they support you or drag you down? Are you planting your intentions in fertile, supportive soil, or is that soil filled with toxins like excuses and old negative beliefs that are simply not true? Ideas: For a day, write down every negative thought you have without judgement. At the end of the day, look at all the statements, is there a theme? Does the theme have a story? Is the story true? How can you change the theme or story to bring you closer to achieving your goals? Yoga: Choose a pose that is hard for you, one you don’t like. For me, it’s any seated twist! Then do it every day for 7 days. Listen to the conversation in your head. What thoughts and feelings surface while doing this pose? Can you change your thought pattern?

Emotions are very powerful since it can control us and sometimes we are not aware of the different actions that we are doing. There will be regrets and forgiveness that will happen if we will let the negative emotions fill our hearts. We should aware all the time and let us control our emotions and use them wisely. An important message that we need to tell to the world. A message that will be useful for everybody.
